Desmond Photographic Levels Editorial Review
The Desmond DLEVX-68 Leveler is a solid and well-built tool that provides precision leveling for tripods. It features three large red wheels that can be adjusted individually to achieve the desired level. The device also includes multiple bubble levels for added accuracy. One customer reported that the bubble levels were not accurate, with the side bubbles being off by as much as 1/3 of a bubble. Unfortunately, there is no way to adjust these levels. Another customer mentioned that the Construction of the leveler might not be as high-quality as other similar products on the market. However, overall, customers found the Desmond DLEVX-68 Leveler to be a useful tool. It was particularly recommended for macro photography, where fine adjustments are essential. The leveler is also suitable for real estate photography, where perfect leveling is crucial for aligning frames. The maximum load capacity of the leveler is 5kg (11lb), making it suitable for lighter cameras. Customers recommended using a geared head for quicker and more precise leveling, especially for tasks that require coarse leveling. In terms of durability, one customer mentioned that one of the adjustable screws started coming apart after a couple of months of use. However, the other two adjusters still worked fine. In conclusion, the Desmond DLEVX-68 Leveler is a reliable and accurate tool for achieving precise leveling with tripods. While it may not have the highest build quality and the bubble levels might not be perfectly accurate, it still serves its purpose effectively for lighter camera setups.
