呉竹(Kuretake) Calligraphy Pens DU184-015 Editorial Review
The Kuretake Million Years Writing Brush, specifically the Makie Story Sakura Uta in black, has received a mixed but generally positive set of reviews from customers. This writing brush reflects the artistry of traditional brushes yet is designed in a pen format, offering a unique writing experience that some users greatly appreciate. Users have noted that it is intended for more seasoned writers rather than beginners, as mastering its usage can be challenging. Many reviewers highlighted its capacity for expressive writing and varied drawing expressions, stating that with the right grip and posture, the brush can yield a beautiful range of strokes perfect for calligraphy, drawing, or manga. Some users maintain that this brush is not suitable for daily use but reserve it for special occasions, indicating that while it's a joy to use, it requires practice and confidence. The aesthetics of the pen also received commendations for its beautiful Makie design, making it an appealing gift option. The ability to easily change cartridges and replace the nib are appreciated features, making maintenance less cumbersome compared to conventional brushes. On the downside, potential customers should be aware that the brush demanding a specific writing style may lead to an initial learning curve. Additionally, there are notes that the ink may dry quickly if not used regularly, with recommendations to use alternative inks for better longevity. Overall, this pen blends functionality and artistry, making it a cherished tool for calligraphers, artists, and those seeking an expressive writing experience. It captures a sense of tradition while also providing modern conveniences. **
