What size solar panel is recommended with this 20a controller?
Answer: Last year I fitted four 100w (6.63a per panel claimed) flexible panels and the best output I ever saw in strong overhead sunshine with discharged batteries was 17.3A so the 20A controller for me is working great. Panel manufacturers always exaggerate the output compared to real-life. On reflection maybe the 30A would have been better to allow me to install another two panels. -

Answer: No cable supplied to Solar Panels. Dedicated 2m ribbon cable is supplied to connect remote reader. -

What are the physical dimensions of this controller?
Answer: The size of the unit is 155mm wide x 220mm long x 53mm deep. The only protuberances will be the cables from the bottom of the unit. -
Question:
Will this work with one 100watt panel?
Answer: A 100 watt panel would be around 8 amps, so this would be fine, but you could use a smaller controller. -
Question:
What amp controller do I need for a 150w panel?
Answer: For a 12V battery, a minimum of 12.5Amp controller is needed. If you want to add more panels later, you will need to purchase a higher amperage controller capacity. The configuration of the panels also affects the required controller. -
Question:
What size fuse to use between 20a solar charge controller and battery?
Answer: A max 130 fuse up to 32 amp is recommended for the battery. -
Question:
I have 1 36v panel and 3 12v batteries in parallel. Will the 30a unit charge the 12v batteries?
Answer: The wattage of the panel is not stated, but the 30A unit works well with 2 x 255w panels to keep 2 x110Ah batteries fully charged. -

Will this take 2 (245w) 20 amp each? I have the 40 amp version.
Answer: Connecting two 245w solar panels in series with the 40Amp version of this charge controller would be better for reducing power loss in the solar panel cables due to resistance and put the charge controller under less stress. -

How long is the cable from remote mt50 to unit?
Answer: It's a standard computer network cable (cat5) which you can buy cheaply in various lengths if 2m isn't long enough. -

What size is the remote monitor panel?
Answer: Didn't get one. Phone over WIFI was sufficient.
